“Start!” said the teacher loudly.
The noisy classroom became soundless in one second. Everyone opened the booklet of the math test. The sound of everyone’s pencil moving filled the classroom. I also opened the booklet and started answering the questions. The air was filled with nervousness.
I had practiced a lot before this test, so I was quite confident. I knew that there were many people taking this test all over Kinki. My cram school teacher told me to relax while doing the test. Also my teacher said that there was going to be a ranking on the result. So I wanted to get into at least less than the twentieth rank.
At first, there were various calculation questions. The clock was ticking rapidly. They needed a lot of calculation, but I was able to do them in time. Then there were tons of questions with sentences. When I saw them I was in great relief.
“I had done these kinds of questions before.” I whispered softly.
“Twenty minutes more!” the teacher explained.
I did them quickly and looked over the entire exam. Luckily I had enough time. When the test finished I was exhausted, but I wanted to know the result as soon as possible.
Two weeks later the result came back. I looked at it slowly. I was in amazement. I was first in amongst two hundred student!
“I can’t believe it!” I said it surprisingly.
I was so surprised but at the same time I was pleased! I learned that I have to practice a lot and relax while doing tests.
